When Tracking Becomes Available
Tracking numbers are not generated when you place your order. They appear only after MuleBuy consolidates your items, you approve QC, and the warehouse hands the package to the shipping carrier. This typically happens 7-12 days after your initial payment. During that waiting period, your order status on the MuleBuy dashboard shows warehouse progress — items arriving, QC photos uploading, and packing completed. Do not expect tracking movement until the international phase begins.
Understanding Tracking Stages
Every MuleBuy tracking journey follows a similar sequence, though carrier terminology varies. The package is first collected by the carrier's local agent in China. It then travels to a regional sorting hub, typically in Guangzhou or Shenzhen. From there, it either flies directly to your country or routes through an intermediate country for triangle shipping. Upon arrival, it clears customs and enters your domestic postal or courier network for final delivery.

What "No Tracking Update" Actually Means
The most common source of tracking anxiety is a multi-day gap with no status change. For most shipping lines, this is completely normal. Packages in transit across oceans or air freight do not scan at every stage. A gap of 5-10 days with no updates usually means the package is moving through a network segment that lacks scanning infrastructure. Panic only becomes warranted when a package sits at "Arrived Destination" or "Customs" for more than 14 days without progression.
How to Read Carrier-Specific Statuses
Different carriers use different terminology. DHL and FedEx provide the most granular tracking, updating at every facility. Triangle shipping lines often show a single "In Transit" status for days or weeks before suddenly updating to "Arrived Destination." Postal lines like China Post update sporadically and sometimes retroactively — you may see three status changes appear at once when the package reaches a major scanning hub. Understanding your carrier's typical update pattern prevents unnecessary worry.
When to Contact MuleBuy Support
Contact support only after reasonable waiting periods. For express shipping, wait 21 days from the ship date. For triangle shipping, wait 30 days. For standard postal, wait 45 days. Before contacting support, check that your tracking number is entered correctly and try multiple tracking websites. Support can initiate carrier inquiries, but carriers typically require a minimum transit period before they classify a package as lost. Premature support tickets do not accelerate delivery.
Lost Package Protocol
In the rare event that a package is confirmed lost, MuleBuy's policy varies by shipping line. Some lines include limited insurance in the shipping cost. Others require separate insurance purchase at checkout. If you did not purchase insurance, compensation is typically limited to a partial refund of the shipping cost, not the item value. This is why experienced buyers recommend insurance for high-value hauls or express shipping, where the premium is a small percentage of the total order value.
